Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating)

Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating outside the normal physiological amount required to maintain thermal homeostasis. The primary condition affects 2%-3% of the population, mostly in the areas of armpits, hands (palms), feet (soles) and face, and for some individuals topical antiperspirants do not solve the problem.

At Chrysalis Rejuvenation Clinic, we treat hyperhidrosis using Botox® injections, a safe, efficacious treatment for primary hyperhidrosis in patients who have failed to respond to topical treatment. This treatment for the primary condition is frequently covered by extended health care plans. Note that some causes of secondary hyperhidrosis are not treatable at this clinic – root cause must be identified before undertaking treatment.
Benefits of the procedure kick in within a few days and continue for 6-8 months. The procedure typically requires one hour. A optical anesthetic and/or cooling device can be used to minimize any discomfort associated with the injections.
