Definition: excessive sweating outside the normal physiological amount to maintain thermal homeostasis.

Primary or idiopathic hyperhidrosis affects 2-3% of the population and affects mainly the axillae (armpits), palms, soles and face. There are a host of secondary causes for excessive sweating and they need to be clearly identified before undertaking Botox® treatment.

Botox® is a safe, efficacious treatment for primary hyperhidrosis in patients that have failed to respond to topical treatment.





Treatment protocol:

Iodine Cornstarch Mapout Markout Injection
shave the area, dry it followed by painting tincture of iodine over the area apply cornstarch with a brush. The area of increased sweating will turn purple/black map out the area with a marker and wipe off the cornstarch/iodine preparartion mark out injection sites every 1-2 cm.

The results should last from 6-8 months.

Patients with neuromuscular disorders, pregnancy and lactation or secondary causes for hyperhidrosis should avoid this treatment.
