Hair Removal

3 options are provided for our patients:

  1. Light Sheer™ Diode
  2. IPL™...intense pulsed light
  3. Nd:Yag soon to be acquired

Each option has its own benefits. Light Sheer™ is the gold standard and workhorse in this industry having stood the test of time. It is useful for skin types 1-5. It generally takes less treatment sessions with Light Sheer™ than either IPL or Nd:Yag systems.

IPL is slightly less painful but can also be used in skin type 6.

Nd:Yag 1064 nm laser is very safe in skin types 6 and also in tanned skin, also very fast for treating larger areas.

It is important to note that none of these systems eliminates blond, white or gray hair in spite of what some manufacturers or advertisers state.

Hair removal is accomplished with a series of treatments. Generally above the neck, 4-6 treatments are required with a 1 month interval.

Below the neck, it may require from 6-8 treatments spaced up to 6- 8 weeks apart.

Single treatments for hair removal are ill advised and we do not offer that as a service in our clinic. Hair removal procedures are sold as a package and the price depends on the area involved, the time it takes and how many sessions are required.
